We are not going to blame anybody for lying, because every person sometimes does not tell the whole truth. We are not saying lying is good or bad, we are just going to tell you how to figure it out when a person is lying to you.

A person avoids definite words


You have agreed to meet with your friend , but he/she calls to tell you he/she can’t come (your kid tells you his teacher made him stay after class, your employer calls in sick, etc.). You should pay attention to the words they DON’T say. A liar usually won’t say "my" or "our". That’s why he/she would rather say "I left the cell phone at home" or "The boss arranged an urgent meeting" then " I left my cell phone at home" or "My boss arranged an urgent meeting".

The voice changes (gets lower or deeper)


All people subconsciously try to pretend they are not lying, "somebody else is", even when it’s inevitable to hide the truth. Sometimes, in case of emergency, the voice can even get 1 octave higher!! It’s even funnier with men, their naturally low voice suddenly turns into squeaky or girlish 

Remember the Terminator


That’s the only creature that is worth believing, when he says "trust me", just because he’s an innocent piece of metal and stays far from good or evil. A human being, on the contrary, is lying for sure when says too much "trust me", "believe me", "I’m not lying to you", all this sort of things. You can respond however you like: to tell him/her straight " All right… Go ahead and tell me another one." Or just keep listening, knowing what that could mean.

Pulling the ear


A liar will definitely try to cover nose, ears, cheeks and especially mouth. Well, we’ve just talked about the reason of such behavior. Subconsciously, people realize that lying is the worst thing to do. A kid will always cover his/her mouth with his/her hand, to hide his lies, show you "that’s not him/her, who’s lying". It’s a little bit different with the adults. A person will touch his/her face, especially lips, even if it looks damn sexy it is an attempt to hide from the lies. But with the ears it’s a different, somebody you talk to is hiding from your lies, it means he/she understands the things he/she’s listening are not true.

Stop chewing!


A liar will give himself away devouring the food with too much enthusiasm. Here we face the same thing- it’s easier to lie with the mouth full of hamburger or lasagna. So, you see, when your soul boyfriend/girlfriend wants to talk to you about your relations and takes you to pizza place, or Mexican restaurant, tells you chewing his/her pizza slice that he/she needs to take a break and think about the future, he /she is thinking "Honey, I’m breaking up with you".
